New monopoly game credit cards

With ultimate bank cards that track wealth and rising property values, players can rule the real estate market as they make instant transactions and speed up play by tapping the card on the ultimate banking unit in the Monopoly Ultimate Banking Game on display in the Hasbro showroom during the American International Toy Fair on Sunday, Feb. Charles Sykes AP for Hasbro. Monopoly may always divide friends and family over important topics, such as who gets to be the top hat, but the board game isn't immune to change.

A new version of Monopoly, called Monopoly Ultimate Banking, will come out this year. According to E! News , the update of the classic contest will use credit cards, instead of cash, to keep up with the times and appeal to younger players.

Each player will get their own credit card or bank card that can be scanned to spend and receive money, and bar codes on properties will allow them to purchase, rent or mortgage homes. Chance now "Life Events" and Community Chest cards that award or take away money will sync with players' accounts via a "quick flick of the wrist over the ultimate banking unit.

I hate being marketed to anyway but this really takes the cake! I thought it was a parody! This is so wrong on so many levels!! We have this game and it is nothing like the ad is portraying! It is just like regular monopoly except you use cards instead of cash. This commercial makes it look so bad.

I nver thought about the idea behind this version of a game I loved as a child. I am glad you showed this commercial. I thought of it as a game and that was ,but it really does teach kids the wrong idea. I now am not sure what I want to do with the electronic version I purchased. My children know that I do not have a credit card and also understand a checking account as well as when the moeny elevelope is gone we have to wait til next payday before we can buy more.

A lot of food for thought. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I also was bothered by the popular song that is playing during the commercial. I have heard it on the radio and know that my children have heard it too. I think I will use the commercial as a conversation starter with my 9 and 11 year olds to talk about budgeting some more.

I hate Monopoly anyways. The only reason I play it with my son is so that he has to do math in order to win. This game seems to take it away since it all goes on the card. Not in this house, thank you very much! Ahh, so disturbing! I am so glad you brought this up!

They understand and now are seeking coupons for toys to make their bucks go further.
