This is an area that I only know a little about even though I'm American and enjoy reading about the history of my nation up to World War I, after that it's to "new" for me. I was glad that I took this class and that the book was so interesting, I have added more books about the hi I enjoyed reading this book for my African-American history class.

Even though I was a history minor, most of this text was new to me--a sad commentary on the biased state of affairs our textbooks and history curricula have become.
